Hudson’s Bay Company has commissioned these fine English-made woolen blankets since 1780, many becoming heirlooms that are passed on from one generation to the next. The points, or small black bars on the side of the blanket, were utilized during the fur trade as an indication of size -- a measure that continues to this day. This radiant hue was originally released as part of the pastel series of 1929, along with a pale yellow dubbed Canary. The golden yellow field with darker gold bar and points enjoyed decades of popularity. Reissued once before in the mid-1980s, we have brought it back once again for our 350th celebration, as it recalls to us the joy of waking up to the bright, pure sunshine of an idyllic summer day. Join us on the second day of each month as we commemorate this milestone with re-released Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket colourways from our past plus modern collaborations. The Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket dates back to the 18th century, with the Multistripe design our most iconic colourway. Our history includes many special edition blankets commemorating key moments in Canadian history, as well as collections which reflect the decor and fashion preferences of their time, some of which endure today. To celebrate our 350 years, we are proudly reintroducing a selection of limited-edition colourways and new designs on the second day of each month. To celebrate the founding of Hudson’s Bay Company on May 2, 1670, we’re reintroducing limited-edition colourways of past Hudson’s Bay Point Blankets, new Point Blanket designs, and exciting collaborations on the second day of each month.

We’re proudly redefining an international retail experience and tackling the challenges and opportunities of a limitless, digital landscape. Diversity & Inclusion: HBC is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our Associates are empowered to lead, support one another, and make contributions that drive their teams and businesses forward – things we believe make HBC a great place to work.
